Two Army men injured as mine exploded in Rajwar Handwara | KNO

Srinagar, April 05 (KNO) : Two Army troopers were injured after a mine planted beneath the earth surface exploded at Army’s 15 RR unit at Lachnapora Rajwar Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Officials told KNO that both the injured Army men were rushed for specialized treatment to Army’s base hospital in Srinagar. “An old mine exploded during the repairing of the fence of Army’s 15 RR unit among the woods of Lachanpora Rajwar on Friday afternoon,” they told KNO. The official said that explosive device was buried beneath the top layer, the solider of concerned official while moving forward one of the Army soldier’s foot pressed it and it exploded, causing injuries to two of the Army men among other working there. However, they said that both the injured were evacuated to Army’s base hospital for specialized treatment after getting first aid form the local health centre. Meanwhile, police has also taken note of the incident. It is believed that explosive device was old in nature and exploded after soldier’s foot pressure, a police official said.(KNO)
